About Our Towels

We searched long and hard for a traditional flour sack towel. Our towels are 100% cotton and prewashed, making them lint-free and extremely absorbent. By definition, flour sack towels are made from non-refined fabrics, so each towel is slightly different, but they all measure approximately 30"×30". Images are printed onto the towels such that they display fully when folded in thirds and hung on a rack. Our dish towels are meant to be used, and become softer and more absorbent over time as the fibers open up with each wash.

The Printing Process

We use a giclée printing process with a professional fabric ink. This process injects the ink directly into the fibers of the fabric, so unlike the silk screening process, no residue is left on the surface, and the fabric texture remains intact. Please note that we do not use white ink, as it spoils the surface. As a result, all white areas of the artwork are transparent, and colors will shift slightly based on the base color of the product selected.

Artwork Reconstruction

Believe it or not, vintage art sometimes shows its age with tears and stains. After digitizing the art, we reconstruct the images pixel by pixel to bring them back to life. This process is tedious, but it allows us to share some great artwork that would have otherwise been forgotten. We brighten colors, remove fold lines, and recreate images where holes or damage occurred.
